2025 matric exhibition

/ face of art & designpast

For the past four years, the Face of Art & Design Matric Exhibition has stood as a prestigious highlight on the Western Cape Visual Arts and Design calendar. This flagship initiative is a collaboration between the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) and the Cape Town Creative Academy (CTCA), celebrating some of the most compelling creative work produced by South Africa’s emerging young artists and designers. In January 2026, the exhibition returns to CTCA’s main campus in Silo 5, presenting 42 outstanding Matric projects drawn from Visual Arts and Design schools across the province. Created by the Grade 12 class of 2025, these works have been carefully selected for their originality, narrative depth and bold creative risk-taking.

Celebrating student excellence

/ a year in review (2025)

As we step boldly into 2026, we do so with full hearts and immense pride. The past year has been nothing short of extraordinary for our students, our staff, and our creative community. Cape Town Creative Academy has once again solidified its place as one of the leading creative institutions on the continent, following a remarkable run of national and international recognition in 2025. But these achievements represent far more than trophies or titles. They speak to the courage, curiosity, and determination that define CTCA’s creative spirit. As South Africa’s youngest multi-award-winning creative institution, CTCA offers a collaborative, transdisciplinary, and student-centred education. We provide a nurturing, hands-on learning environment that challenges students to think differently, experiment boldly, and graduate with work-ready portfolios that shape the future of the creative industry. And in 2025, those bold thinkers shone brighter than ever.
