The Bachelor of Arts in Motion Design (SAQA ID 93545, NQF Level 7) equips students with advanced skills in animation, moving image, 3D visualisation and visual storytelling. Rooted in African creative traditions and global industry practice, the programme prepares graduates for careers across film, advertising, digital media and immersive environments.

Electives are optional courses that enhance your primary studies. You choose two electives in your second year and continue with one in your third. These courses are designed to broaden your skills and knowledge, encouraging creative problem-solving and innovative thinking through practical application.

am a Motion Designer and graduated from CTCA in 2019. I was always interested in a creative direction as I had been playing around with designing and video editing from a young age. CTCA attracted me as they offered courses that looked really interesting, which you could not really do anywhere else. I did enjoy my time at CTCA a lot.

Please note that our degrees are accredited for in-person instruction. Classes take place on campus which is located in the Silo district at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town
