workshops
Short, hands-on creative weekend workshops hosted at Cape Town Creative Academy’s V&A Waterfront campus.
Designed for curious young makers, future creative students, and anyone wanting to explore their creative potential, these workshops offer an exciting opportunity to learn by doing in a supportive, studio-based environment.
In a world increasingly shaped by digital tools and artificial intelligence, practical making skills matter more than ever. Working with real materials, tools, techniques, and processes helps young creatives develop confidence, problem-solving ability, and a deeper understanding of how ideas take shape. Whether designing, building, drawing, crafting, prototyping, or experimenting with new creative methods, each workshop encourages participants to think through making and discover what is possible when imagination meets practical skill.
Each workshop runs over one to two days and takes place in CTCA’s well-equipped studios and workshop spaces.
Participants are guided by award-winning lecturers and experienced artisans in small groups, allowing for individual attention, proper guidance, and plenty of room to ask questions, test ideas, and refine techniques. The focus is on playful experimentation, purposeful making, and creative confidence.
Whether you are thinking about studying a creative degree, building your portfolio, or simply looking for a fun and meaningful way to explore your creative side, the Young Creators Workshops offer a valuable taste of creative education and industry-relevant practice. You will meet like-minded creatives, learn from skilled mentors, and leave with new skills, fresh inspiration, and something you have made with intention.
