Join this engaging, hands-on Photography workshop and discover the creative possibilities of Polaroid emulsion lifts. Through guided experimentation, you will learn how to separate, transfer, and rework photographic emulsions to create distinctive image-based artworks with delicate textures and unexpected visual effects.

Syd is an artist and educator with over twenty years of experience working with the medium of photography – both digital and analogue. 

Her fifteen years of teaching experience range from facilitating practical workshops, teaching at various public schools in South Korea and, after earning a Master’s in Visual Arts Education,  lecturing on Visual literacy and Photography at various Cape Town higher education institutions.

Her favourite quote to encourage creativity: “First make it exist, then make it good!” Syd currently works as the Learning and Teaching Coordinator at CTCA.

  • The CTCA will supply all materials
  • Bring a light lunch. Snacks, water, coffee and tea will be available.
What you will take home

You will go home with a one-off artwork based on a unique photographic technique, ready for framing.
