At the Cape Town Creative Academy, our students benefit from our unique educational approach which rests on five key frameworks: the academic rigour typically associated with traditional universities, the creative individuality fostered by art schools, the technical proficiency typical to technical training colleges, an aptitude for entrepreneurial thinking common to business schools, as well as real-world preparation through internships. The team of highly experienced educators and design practitioners work in close collaboration with industry connections to ensure that our programmes reflect and respond to the latest developments and demands in the creative industries.
Unlike any other institution, our diverse model ensures that our graduates are both creatively proficient and future-proof. Blending critical thinking, aesthetic sensitivity with technological skills, strategic planning, and hands-on experience, our graduates consistently stand out from the crowd.
The CTCA’s Honours programmes are ideal for BA graduates in the fields of Visual Communication, and Contemporary and Fine Art, or any related design degrees who wish to further their studies on postgraduate level. Both Honours programmes are offered either as a 1 year full-time or 2 year part-time option. Cemented within rigorous contemporary academic research, students are able to explore more deeply their individual passion and style while developing their acumen for entrepreneurial skills alongside industry experts.
The minimum admission requirement for a BA Hons (Visual Communication) or BA Hons (Contemporary Art) is an appropriate Bachelor’s Degree or appropriate Advanced Diploma (NQF level 7) in a relevant field, for which the candidate obtained an aggregate of 65% on exit level.
